Absence of evidence != evidence of absence

Here is a word of advice.

When your customers or friends claim that something is wrong with your work, DO listen as it most probably is.

The fact that you can't easily reproduce an error, doesn't mean that the error report is invalid. It does mean that you have to try harder to get there, though.

We have been there so many times the past 12+ years, yet there are still times we have to practically force ourselves to believe there is something wrong, in order to keep on searching and (eventually) resolve the reported issue.

Here is recent (personal) experience I had.

A couple days ago, some fellows using the Chrome Currency Converter extension, reported something was wrong with it and that it didn't work for them.

Though I tried to replicate the issue quite hard (and for quite some time), things looked okay at all times.

Still, the reports kept on coming ...

Finally, as I found out the hard way, a very bizarre and rare options combo caused the extension to break.

In closure, a bug report almost certainly means there is a bug. Value this kind of feedback as gold, never ignore it.

Still unimpressed with the iPad?

What, you are don't like it cause it ain't ..."multitasking"? Or because iPad doesn't come with an OLED screen?

Hm, think again.

Greece's dysfunctional economy is now at the heart of a rescue effort that could be disastrous for the entire continent and the rest of the world.

Read the whole article, and start wondering, as I still am.

On Google Buzz

Here is my - early - take on Google Buzz.

Google Buzz can very much end up the Trojan horse for Google to really stop Facebook's and/or Twitter's leadership.

Why? Because:

Its Google.

It's very good - already.

It's not Google Wave .

It's not Twitter or Facebook.

Loads - more like myriads - of expectations on this brand new toy.

My Alerts: Track your topics of interest online

My Alerts is yet another extension I developed for Chrome .

Its sole purpose was to help me track what I am interested in online the easy way.

So, in case you are a Chrome use (like I am) and want to track your topics of interest online (like I do), you may want to give My Alerts a try.
